Here For You

Versatility & Synthesis

Dealing with organisational complexity requires cognitive diversity and a variety of perspectives. At the same time, this must not be at the expense of coherent, integrated, and holistic approaches. We ensure a common philosophy on the basis of trust, many years of experience and the pursuit of continuous learning.

„Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.“

Edward Everett Hale

Katharina Henning-Kaul Our gardener

At Both& we are dealing with very different (and sometimes exotic) plants that need their very own growing conditions to thrive… and that usually starts with getting to the root of the problem. With her unusual level of empathy, Katharina is able to build connections with others that reach deep below the surface.

This enables her to support people in their very specific life and work contexts to develop and strengthen their resilience. As a process companion, she creates a safe, appreciative space, a kind of “greenhouse atmosphere” in which everyone can truly blossom and is inspired to let personal dreams and professional goals grow sky-high.

At the same time, Katharina creates fertile grounds to transform the loose weave that connects people into strong tendrils, so that new, great and strong things can emerge. As an expert in e-learning, she naturally also provides a safe framework in the virtual space, making it easier to perceive goals, conditions and challenges in a new way, to actively contribute and to engage with others.

The fact that Katharina loves to go for long walks in nature in her free time should come as no surprise.

These are the areas where Katharina always gives a green thumbs up:

  • Workshop facilitation
  • Leadership development & Business coaching
  • Virtual, transformative learning
  • Sales & Negotiation trainings
Marion Walz Our Swiss pocket knife

With her wealth of experience and rare versatility, Marion takes a magnifying glass to every relevant detail without ever losing sight of the big picture. She always knows when to apply fine precision cuts and when to bring out the power tools – as deeply rooted in theoretical foundations as in her passion for working on the specific, multi-layered challenges the wide variety of organizations experience today.

Marion gained her broad range of tools for active and constructive crisis management not least through her own reflections on the lessons that the “school of life” has held in store for her over the years.

This has enabled her to achieve true mastery in inspiring ever more resilience in others – and likewise has sharpened her empathy for people and organizations, whether in the fast lane or in extraordinary crisis situations. Marion just knows exactly when and how to use which utensil.

Whether individuals, teams or entire organizations, Marion is the perfect companion on journeys along new and sometimes rocky paths, always ready to bring people together, activate and motivate them with as much heart as razor-sharp intellect.

Marion brings the perfect tools for:

  • Organizational development
  • Navigating complexity & Sensemaking
  • Business agility & Self-organization
  • Communication & Conflict resolution
  • Executive coaching & Leadership development
Ute Nitschke Our hyperlinker

Whether in personal development or the development of entire organizations, positive change often begins with redefining success. And in many cases this requires looking at previously isolated issues as a whole in order to develop integral solutions – and bringing together the people who are affected by these issues. For Ute, collaboration is an essential key to lasting success. With a degree in psychology and many years of experience in corporate HR management, she knows how to connect people, with each other as well as with themselves. It is important to her to create a working atmosphere of ease and collaborative joy yet focused on the specific challenges at hand. This almost naturally creates an environment characterized by respect – and thus provides the prerequisites for unleashing unimagined performance potential, with pragmatism and efficiency, but never lacking empathy. In short: Ute not only brings people together at eye level, but also brings them to eye level with her success.

Ute never forgets to stay in close contact with herself, for example by hiking in nature, gardening or reading.

Ute feels a particularly deep connection with these topics:

  • Leadership development & training
  • Organizational development & Change management
  • Navigating uncertainty & Dealing with complexity
Annette Lühken Our bridge builder

Talking and letting people talk – that is the key to a lively communication. What sounds so simple often requires a lot of empathy and patience. As a communications expert and endurance athlete, Annette is prepared perfectly to utilize language to bridge boundaries, closing gaps between cultures as much as between managers and employees. Whether in person or virtually, Annette offers a fluent exchange in four idioms, regardless of the challenges at hand, from employee management to employee development and on to sales or team optimization.

Throughout her many career phases as a coach, teacher, and salesperson in Germany and abroad, she has always maintained a pronounced scientific enthusiasm when it comes to language. For Annette, communication is and remains an adventure, just as life ideally is for this woman of action.

In her free time, Annette, as a true Francophile, enjoys connecting with nature, trail running, mountain biking, mountain hiking and ski touring, often in the company of her Irish setter.

Annette particularly likes connecting the dots in these areas:

  • Communication training
  • Intercultural communication
  • Sales training
Benjamin Sung Ho Wenzel Our lightning conductor

Changes, whether in personal or corporate contexts, are often fraught with tension. That is why good support for change processes is characterized by empathy, pragmatism and methodical consistency – in other words: a constant change of perspective in order to prevent conflicts of interest. For Benjamin, the best way to achieve successful transformation is to alter the framework conditions of the system in order to give the potential of the individual more room.

As an enthusiastic co-creator, Benjamin knows how wide exactly the developmental space needs to be in every phases of change processes, all in order to reduce tensions and still move forward with drive and energy. And not least Benjamin knows re-initiate this energy in long and challenging transformations with skill and consistency, so that successful transformations never lose their momentum.

Benjamin preferably conducts projects in these areas:

  • Change management
  • Change communication
  • Diversity (of thoughts) in organizations
Claudia Irsfeld Our negotiation expert

Only addressing the problem of the gender (pay) gap is of moderate value at best. Our negotiation specialist and HR expert Claudia is as passionate about promoting real change in structural changes in companies as supporting women in recognizing their value. In her training courses, she helps women to become aware of their own abilities and to communicate their market value with confidence and stand their ground in salary and career discussions. What it is hat Claudia does differently? She shows women a safe path that also works in the context of gender stereotypes that still prevail – and path that leads to success much faster while even being fun.

Closing the gender pay gap will play a key role on the road to greater gender fairness and diversity. However, those affected by inequality must also contribute actively. With Claudia’s support, women can find individual solutions to purposefully tackle their challenges and help shape necessary change.

Claudia ha also put these ideas in writing, for example in her highly recommendable book “Frauen und Gehalt. Weg mit dem Gender Pay Gap”.

These are Claudia’s favorite training areas:

  • Confidence in salary negotiations for women
  • Unmasking unconscious biases
  • Strengthening diversity
  • Successfully pursuing career goals
  • Conducting targeted job interviews as a company representative
Daniela Gardini Our game changer

Daniela takes on even the biggest challenges with playful ease – as she proved during the months of the coronavirus pandemic, which were particularly challenging for consultants and coaches, during which she developed countless unconventional online training formats. Daniela generally choses unusual approaches to sustainable change, pragmatic and goal-oriented in strategic planning, but always empathetic and didactically diverse when it comes to implementation.

Daniela sees her training sessions as a kind of “parlor game” in which success is based on genuine dialogue and close interaction – in which the other players sometimes have to be provoked a little in order to find the best possible moves. This is the royal road from cooperative play to serious reflection and purposeful development.

Outside of her training sessions, the talented linguist spends almost every free minute in her pristine, almost self-sufficient home in Italy.

Daniela is a particularly strong team captain on the following playing fields:

  • Sales & negotiation
  • Strategic account management
  • Business coaching
Holger Schalk Our space explorer

As an architect and creative strategist, Holger sees it as his task to help build the future of work with a strong focus on sustainability. He is always on the lookout for the innovations that will have a decisive impact on the working and living environments of tomorrow … and works passionately to fill the gaps wherever these innovations are still missing.

Holger knows that designing spaces that are as intelligent as they are approachable creates a crucial framework for successful collaboration and new, adaptive ways of working. That is why it is so important to him to put people at the center of his construction plans. In his co-creative design processes, the focus is always on those who will ultimately fill new spaces with life. This is why Holger’s clients play a decisive role in all planning steps, sometimes even using Lego bricks, in a serious yet playful manner.

Holger creates plenty of room for new ideas in these areas:

  • Architecture & Interior design
  • New world of work
  • Innovation
  • LEGO™ Serious Play
Julian Braasch Our shared value holder

Even though what mostly counts for Julian is what is countable, as a coach he is never calculating but rather someone you can always count on. Because the bottom line is that even the most sophisticated business analysis is not worth much if it does not take human capital into account to the same degree as economic capital. That’s why, when supporting change processes, Julian looks at the business data as well as at the personal situation of all those involved – and adds an appreciative, open exchange to a collaborative, goal-oriented solution finding process, all summing up to a decisive surplus in all restructuring measures.

During his career in private equity and interim management, he has already used this calculation trick to successfully support a wide range of different companies in securing financing, exploiting savings potentials, sustainably improving processes or even developing completely new business areas. Whether for start-ups or global players, Julian brings the perfect symbiosis of a computer brain and a very human heart.

There is only one thing Julian pursues with 100% passion and 0% pragmatism: experiencing and protecting nature in all its diversity and beauty.

You can always count on Julian in the following areas:

  • Business process development
  • Corporate finance
  • Identification of savings potentials
Kathrin Höckel Our storyteller & education expert

As an expert in educational policy and transformative learning, Kathrin is familiar with countless views on didactics. Whether as an action researcher (in collaboration with the award-winning MIT researcher Otto Scharmer), as a government advisor at the OECD, as an author and as an award-winning filmmaker (“Teachers for Life”), her diverse experiences help Kathrin to lead transformative projects of companies and individuals safely to the successful completion of change processes. Kathrin does not feel limited to a particular school of thought, but to the “school of life”, in which major social movements and entire education systems are also on the curriculum.

She knows that taking on new challenges is always a rewarding adventure – which suits an enthusiastic sportswoman and adventurer like Kathrin, who sometimes finds – and overcomes – her own limits on solo bike tours through America and Russia or on unaccompanied ski expeditions in the Arctic.

Kathrin particularly enjoys tutoring in these areas:

  • Education & Personal development
  • Learning as an adventure
  • Captivating stories & Filmmaking
Lise Brynooghe Our aheadmistress

Due to her many years of experience in the banking sector, Lise knows all about investments. And for her, the best investments are those in a sustainable future. She also knows what it takes to achieve the best returns from a better tomorrow: pragmatism and practicality on the one hand, foresight, and unconventional thinking on the other.

After all, the future can only become tangible when seemingly unrelated things combine to form a multi-layered, bigger picture. It is therefore hardly surprising that Lise is particularly passionate about dealing with what lies ahead: in strategic consulting as well as in change management, organizational design and coaching. With the future always firmly in sight, she considers the personal development of the individual to be just as important as the major development trajectories that determine how we will work tomorrow.

It is also unsurprising that in her free time, Lise is not only generally passionate about art and culture in all shapes and forms, but about eclectic architecture in particular, as here she recognizes her aspiration to create perfect symbioses for a new, exciting future from the tried, tested and good.

These are the areas in which Lise likes to move ahead:

  • Organizational design & Change management
  • Agility, Innovation & Design thinking
  • Personal development & growth
Marco Cavelty Our guidepost

Marco knows better than most that one shouldn’t lose her or his footing when breaking new ground – and finds his own strong foothold by drawing from his experience as a CFO, culture changer and social architect, always ready to develop innovative ideas that truly stand the test of time. For this “reality check”, he examines every challenge carefully from two perspectives: an emphatic and an analytical one.

These are Marco‘s main guidelines when finding ever new paths to re-shaping not only organizations … but also complex social systems, both in the public and private sectors. When treading these paths, Marco relies on coffee as fuel – and if he just gets enough of it, he is a good listener and the perfect companion to help him move things forward safely and quickly while remaining firmly rooted in the “here and now”.

Marco is passionate about navigating through the following areas:

  • Cultural & Organizational development
  • Crisis & Recovery management
  • Sensemaking & Hybrid forms of organizations
  • Social architecting & Decision making in the public sector
Marcus Thies Our natural

It is in the nature of nature to be uncomfortable at times. Everyone who appreciates true nature like Marcus does knows this – in the forest, on fields and mountain peaks, but also in the open confrontation with human nature. And in this, honesty is just as important as the deep empathy with which Marcus accompanies people on their journey to their innermost self through the unfeigned experience of nature. It is important to listen carefully to the resonance between people and nature in order to know when nothing needs to be said – and yet to say a lot in shared silence. This is the only way to ultimately hear the nuances that herald lasting change.

As an engineer and outdoorsman, Marcus himself constantly lives in the “in-between” without letting it tear him apart. Instead, he always focuses his outdoor coaching sessions to let people, society, and ecology benefit in equal parts. This special approach to consulting allowed Marcus to fill his rucksack with lots of successful projects for top managers.

And what does such an outdoor type do in his free time? What he usually does, of course: indulge in nature.

These coaching areas are entirely in line with Marcus’ nature:

  • “Leaders by nature” | Coaching in nature
  • Organizational development & Change support
  • Non-violent communication
Marie-Claire Junge Our globetrotter

Who has seen the world knows where to find good stories – just like Marie-Claire, our storytelling expert. Her steep career has not only lead her to the top of her game via specialized, generalist and managerial HR functions, but also to a wide variety of industries, through diverse cultures and around the world … good stuff for countless stories – and also the stuff that good listeners are made of.

Because if you want to move freely and successfully in the world, you not only need courage, but also a lot of communication talent, empathy and an open mind. Marie-Claire brings all of this to the table, in her tireless efforts to discover, promote and retain talent. To this end, she creates a deeply inclusive environment and develops purposeful interventions to enable people to better understand their own story and thus get on a sustainable path to success.

As a reflector, sparring partner, catalyst, advocate and, last but not least, storyteller, Marie-Claire not only supports people in connecting with each other within teams, but also helps them to connect more strongly with their own very special abilities.

Marie-Claire particularly enjoys immersing herself in stories that revolve around these topics:

  • Executive coaching
  • Team coaching
  • Global talent development
  • Communication across groups
Dr. Robert Stoop Our game boy

Gaming is much more than just a pastime. After all, games can also be used to tackle the complex issues that drive entrepreneurs facing manifold challenges from digitalization to new work. Robert not only has an infinite number of ideas for new games in his head – but also knows how to activate the natural play instinct in almost everyone and thus encourage experience-based learning. That way he playfully transforms the even the most diverse challenges into future-proof solutions.

Last but not least, Robert, who owns several thousand games himself, wants to make a positive contribution to society with ease and playfulness. In addition to his work as a game developer, Robert is also a master in the field of software solutions for digitalization.

The passionate drummer lives out his own passion for play in various bands. Robert’s great love is, of course, his family. But French comics, sweet cherries with vanilla sauce and the advent season also have a big place in his heart.

Robert’s favorite playing fields are:

  • Game development
  • Gamification
  • Digital transformation
Stefan Teichtweier Our surprise package

Those who approach every challenge with bitter seriousness will quickly lose out on success – simply because rigid patterns of action resist the unforeseen with such force that even surprisingly simple solutions are lost sight of.

This is why Stefan strives to find the right balance between serious goal-setting and playful implementation in his work with individuals, teams, and entire organizations. In doing so, he can draw on a play box filled to the brim with a colorful range of building blocks: thanks to his expertise in IT, psychology and cognitive science, he gets people to interact authentically and appreciatively and become real team players in a surprisingly short time. In this way, different perspectives, and ways of working merge to form a holistic approach that allows for mastering any challenge co-creatively. Not surprisingly, many of his clients are surprised at their unexpected potential.

It goes without saying that Stefan loves to spend his free time with his children … and as he has never forgotten how it feels to be a child himself, he always enjoys learning new and unexpected things.

With Stefan, these challenges are almost child’s play:

  • Agile ways of working
  • Systemic & Gestalt coaching
  • Mediation & Conflict resolution
  • Information technology
Torsten Oertmann Our door opener

Torsten’s commitment is based on over 30 years of practical professional experience as a manager in various positions and organisations. With this knowledge and a wealth of experience as a mediator, facilitator and business coach, he supports organisations, teams and managers in resolving conflicts and in development and change processes.

What particularly motivates him is that people enjoy their work. This feeling arises when we see meaning in our own work and in the organisation, when we harmonise with the framework conditions and when space for development opens up for us.

In Torsten’s experience, what is needed first and foremost is a willingness to be open and honest in order to open the door to these spaces. This means, especially in critical and conflict-ridden settings, openly naming things in order to create clarity and new perspectives together. Once the right issues have been brought to light and discussed, change can begin. This applies to the clarification of a conflict as well as to the further development of an organisation or on the way through a phase of personal reorientation.

That’s why he always starts with a dialogue based on trust. After all, designing working environments in such a way that employees can enjoy developing their full potential also requires coherent, resilient expectation and goal management. Torsten sees “management” as progress through dialogue, with clear goals and enjoyment in implementation.

Torsten also enjoys managing his free time, for example when riding his motorbike, on long-distance trips or simply in nature.

Torsten has the right key competences in these areas in particular:

  • Mediation & Conflict resolution
  • Leadership development & training
  • Organisational development & Change management
