In the business world we seem to stubbornly cling to the illusion of controllability and plannability.

We ignore the obvious: both human systems and their environment are unpredictable and can thus not be “managed”. Most of the traditional management literature misleadingly paints a picture of an ideal organisation as a perfectly functioning clockwork or machine.

We try to find security where we should learn to act in uncertainty instead and are surprised if things do not pan out as expected. Repeatedly.

Organisational success will increasingly depend on our ability to navigate complexity and uncertainty. In that regard our traditional ways have been inadequate. Cultural and structural legacy is often a roadblock.

The cost is high – a luxury no company can afford. With increasing awareness, competitive pressure in the field of management innovation will rise. We want to support our customers in standing the test and seizing the opportunity.

Time is of the essence in the light of the complex global challenges threatening no less than our very existence. The next decade will be pivotal for humankind, and enterprises will be crucial agents in shaping our future.
